Politicians have tried to represent the people for a few hundred years and we have become accustomed to turning to them to solve our problems as a society. It is only now that we have been able to take information and allow collaboration and development to happen from a distance. Wikipedia is a great example and we can do the same with societal/political issues. Collaborating from a distance, we benefit from the expertise of social entrepreneurs and when we start with the self-reliance of families and communities, most political issues will be erased. So in a sense you can take care of the problem while you get the vote.
Let me simplify, in the past we have separated seeing, learning, doing, and becoming into the separate social functions of media, education, business and religion. Today, through the visual media we can introduce, train, do and reflect in a shorter time and from the ‘best of the best’ specialists out there. What’s nice is that though the specialists may be strangers, the people with whom we apply their teachings can be long-time friends.

Facebook is a great tool that has spread across the country and the world to more than 300 million users in less than 5 years. Yet the service is fluffy.
